Fitness Blogger Meet and Tweet

Pilates-Pro attended the Fitness Blogger Meet and Tweet this May and it was quite an exciting event! It was a dreary and rainy Wednesday morning, but inside the Metropolitan Pavilion it was fresh and full of energy! Fitness Magazine put together a fantastic event! We were excited to network with other professionals who are as fitness-obsessed and love living a healthy lifestyle like us. We also had the opportunity to meet fitness bloggers, as well as beauty and fashion bloggers.

Pilates-Pro also wants to say a big thank you to all of the sponsors at Fitness Blogger Meet and Tweet! We got to see and try amazing products from various brands, and left with some awesome free merchandise. Check out the sponsors and guest speakers from this event:

Reebok supported the bloggers with a visual interpretation of tweets with cards bloggers could fill out and tape on their sign. We loved the RealFlex sneakers! When it comes to sneakers, I’m always trying to make my feet look smaller without sacrificing support. The more cushion, the bigger the shoe and the sleeker, cleaner –looking shoes tend to have no support. RealFlex bridges the gap between style and support.
Fortunately, the Fitness Blogger Meet and Tweet fell on the Wednesday before Mother’s Day - my mom got the sneakers and she loves them. Thank you Reebok!

Pure Protein

Pure Protein makers of shakes, energy drinks and bars offered a tasting at their booth, reminding us that you need the right nutrition to fuel your workout. Eric Schwarzkopf, publisher of Fitness Magazine, is shown here getting ready to try a Pure Protein shake!

Post workout, slide into a pair of Birkenstocks for your well deserving tootsies. Allow your feet to breathe and feel free – Birkenstock’s help your foot maintain proper balance and offer great shock resistance. We love the Madrid Style, and it comes in so many amazing colors, you won’t be able to make up your mind! www.birkenstockusa.com

Get hydrated on the go with a CamelBak water bottle! They are global leaders in gear for personal hydration, and at the fitness event they gave out amazing water bottles for each guest. Check out their website for the history of the brand – we were intrigued by all of the amazing products they offer! www.camelbak.com

Go With the Grain

Go with the Grain is an organization committed to “advancing the public’s understanding of the important role grain-based foods play in a healthful diet.” It was exciting to meet soccer star Mia Hamm, a spokesperson for the organization. Checkout her messages on their YouTube channel:

Love Maria Waldron’s reaction to (blogger for “a life to Bragg about www.alifetobraggabout.blogspot.com”) the Schick Hydro Silk 5 razor. I remember back in 2004 when the Onion (“www.theonion.com/articles/fuck-everything-weredoing- five-blades,11056”) newspaper had an article titled “F@ck Everything, We’re Doing Five Blades”. Well Schick’s done it a 5 blade razor. I usually pick up the cheapest blade there is stick it on my bath tub and use it until it starts to rust. This razor comes with a hook to hang in your shower (no more rust), 2 cartridges and a gel skin guard. For the first time, I couldn’t tell I was shaving. I didn’t feel the five blades scratching my skin, but my skin felt smooth like I had just paid the $10 extra for the spa treatment with my pedicure.

I was one of those kids that actually liked getting raisins when I went trick-or-treating. Their sweet but not too sweet, and who can forget turning that little box into a whistle. I now enjoy adding them to salads, breads and casseroles. Sun-Maid celebrates their 100th Anniversary this year.

We love Oakley’s Polarized Overtime sunglasses! They’re fashionable and lightweight, with a three-point fit. These shades were the first I’ve ever worn that didn’t steam up or remind me I of how hard I was working out by slipping off. I was able to go on a long run and the Oakley’s stayed on. No poking myself in the face or needing a strap to keep them on. Jillian Leo of Sprinkle Massacre www.sprinklemassacre.com shown here trying on some Oakley’s Polarized Overtime sunglasses.

V8 V-Fusion Smoothie’s come in 3 flavors: strawberry banana, wildberry, and mango. High in vitamin C, it provides a full serving of fruits and vegetables, has no added sugar and is a good source of potassium. Jess Milcetich www.jessruns.com shown her about to taste the mango smoothie.

I have always been fit, and low to average weight, so when I noticed that cottage cheese look about my thighs one day while trying on bathing suites I was shocked. Since then I’ve intensified my workout routine and started wearing long soccer shorts. A friend told me she started using a cellulite cream and “she thinks it works.” I never gave them much thought, but I was willing to give it a try. So when I came across Vichy’s “Destock Stomach” and “CelluDestock” cream they had my attention. The Destock Stomach firming cream sport pictures of workout routines in the interior of each box. Vichy says the Destock Stomach in conjunction with regular exercise will reduce the appearance of cellulite and will smooth and tone skin in four weeks. I’m going to try both and hope in four weeks I’ll be able to buy some new summer clothes I’ve been eyeing.

Special thanks to Steven Meyer who took all of the great photos show about and FITNESS Magazine for hosting the event.
