Anyone else having trouble getting students to pre-register for classes? Wondering what you do about pre-registration for group classes, no shows, late cancels. We are getting only 10-20% registration and the rest drop ins (even regulars who come nearly every week!!) No one wants to register because they're afraid they're going to not be able to make it last minute and get a late charge...UGH! It's so frustrating!! Our class sizes are small (8-10 max) for personalize attention so if only 1 or 2 register from week to week, but then one week don't...Then we're in a bind because we don't know if the others are going to show or not. Then we're stuck with canceling classes if no one registers even though potentially there would have been students, but who knows! If they don't register, we can't predict. We even give them 2 freebie late cancels per package...HELP!

If you stick to your policy the people who drop in will get the picture when they show up for class and there is no class. It may take a few weeks but it will happen. If you don't want to risk losing potential income that way, do a class package. They pre-pay for a certain number of classes, or a certain class for a specific time period. If they no show it's their loss and not yours.
